Couture’s Guide to Foils & Colouring

Face Frame Foils or ¼ Head

This service is perfect for a pop of colour around your hairline, brightening up the area around your face without over-colouring the rest of your hair.

½ Head Foils

This covers the top panel and sides. This is our most common service as it covers everywhere you can see.

¾ Head of Foils

This covers everything a ½ head does, plus the crown or nape of your head, giving you that little bit more coverage. (We suggest this if you tie your hair up a lot.)

Full Head of Back-to-Back Foils

This is our ultimate blonde card. If you are wanting a super blonde head of hair, this is for you. This is the maximum coverage foiling technique.

Balayage

This technique involves painting colour onto the hair in a more freehand manner, creating a natural, sun-kissed look with soft transitions between dark roots and light ends. It results in a more blended, low-maintenance finish that grows out beautifully.

Full Head of Foils

This is the "wow" factor blonde service, leaving you feeling bright all over.

Root Stretch

This is an add-on service that you can apply to any foiling package to create a lived-in blonde look. It helps create a seamless grow-out and blends in your natural colour. This is perfect for clients who prefer a more natural look and like to space out their hair appointments.

Frequently Asked Questions *

  • We recommend washing your hair 1-2 days prior to your appointment, as your natural oils protect your scalp. We don’t recommend coming with hair that hasn’t been washed for a week or is full of sweat from the gym. We also recommend not having touch-up sprays in your hair, as this can affect your results.

  • This varies for individuals:

    • Foils: 6-8 weeks

    • Balayage: 8-12 weeks

    • Root Stretch/Toner: 4-6 weeks

    • Grey Coverage: 4-6 weeks

  • Blonde shampoo does not make your hair lighter. In fact, it can sometimes make it darker due to the dark purple pigment in the shampoo. Overusing purple shampoo can make your hair dull, darker, and dry. We highly recommend not using purple shampoo every wash and alternating it with a hydrating shampoo in between uses.

  • Using our salon retail range is a must. Cleanse your hair at your appointment with a product like K18 or Urban Alchemy, which safely strips out any impurities, metals, and toxins from your hair prior to your stylist bleaching it. Not over-washing your hair, coming into the salon for a refresher toner or gloss, and using a heat protector when styling your hair are all important steps. Excessive heat can strip out your toner and turn your gorgeous blonde hair into brassy blonde hair.
